Details about how it works:

1. You have to sign up to become a member of 8 Billion Trees to get the voucher. The hotels are giving away the free rooms to help plant trees as part of their eco commitment so you have to sign up to help plant trees.
2. You are required to pay the local taxes on the room which is about $40 per night.
3. You must book your vacation dates within the next 18 months.
4. The free vacation voucher is good for 2 adults over the age of 18 and 2 children but more people can be added for an additional fee.
5. There is no age limit for the free vacation.
6. The free vacation does not include airfare or spending money. It only covers the cost of the room (normally $250+ per night).
7. Once you arrive, 8 Billion Trees will begin planting your trees.
8. The trees planted are native species only–only native trees are used for planting so the natural ecosystem is not disturbed.
9. The 8 Billion Trees team will oversee the planting using their trained biologists and tree planters while you get to enjoy your eco vacation.
10. After your trip you are encouraged to leave a review on your eco experience but it is not required.
